In the Ferguson Lab, we're interested in the interactions between genetic and environmental factors in disease development. In particular, we focus on functional genomics and clinical translation in cardiometabolic and inflammatory diseases, including diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Current research projects include:

  • Studying the role of alpha-aminoadipic acid in the development of diabetes.
  • Genomics and metabolomics of complex disease.
  • The interaction between diet and the microbiome in cardiometabolic risk.
